I just read an article concerning the ability to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Turns out, the article was at the top of the CNN article site. For those of you who are techno-challenged, that means more people are reading How they can prevent STD's like the porn stars in the porn industry. Click Here for Full Article.
Now, I'm not promoting this article so we can figure out how to live sexually promiscuous, but I am sharing this in light of the release of my new book Expose on Teen Sex and Dating. I've already starting getting e-mails from parents and pastors concerned that I'm helping teenagers to "get away" with behavior that is a little less desirable, but my point is this…THEY'RE THERE!!
If the top trending story at CNN is about how to keep my physical body clear of certain diseases only transmitted by sexual relationships, we've already in a place where we should be concerned.
I have had several e-mails from families who actually watch their teen's behavior, text messages, skype conversations, facebook walls, and all the other ways they communicate today; and the overwhelming message is "THANKS!"
I think the danger in releasing a book about teenage dating relationships is there are certain youth pastors who might say, "Those kids aren't in my group." Or, you might run into parents who say, "My kid would never do that." But the facts are the facts. Teenagers are engaged in behavior that is dangerous, and unless we start the conversation centered on helping them navigate their dating life, it will be OUR KID.
