I saw this picture this morning and I thought, "That is MY LIFE!!" If I don't write it down, I'm forgetting. I mean, it's almost epidemic proportion. Jamie can tell me something, and as soon as I turn around I'll be thinking of something different, and forget all about what I was supposed to do. It's crazy. I don't know why I'm created this way. Maybe it's a result of all the stimulus of television, movies, skype, yahoo chat, facebook, bike riding, and well, what I like to call LIFE.
In any event, I was reading Genesis 8 this morning on my trek through the Bible Chronologically. I expected to read all about Noah and the flood again, but something caught my eye. Right at the beginning of the chapter, Moses wrote, "But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that
were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the
waters receded." (Genesis 8:1)
It just started out, God remembered….
He didn't forget…
WOW, isn't it awesome that we serve a God who doesn't forget?
In the middle of the worst natural disaster this world has ever seen, He was vibrantly aware of the rescue boat. He didn't leave them alone to fend for themselves. HE REMEMBERED!!!!
It didn't take but one verse this morning for my eyes to begin to puddle as I just dwell on the fact that we serve a God who remembers.
He doesn't need sticky notes.
He doesn't need a string around His finger.
In His time, He'll show up.
He doesn't forget.
We serve a God who remembers us in our time of need!!!!
Oh, what a celebration today will be.
Give thanks to a God who will be there.
Give praise to a Father who understands the cry in the middle of the storm.
This is the hope I long for.
This is the hope I believe in.
The hope that God will be here.
