KIVU Barn Dance #1

It's the eve of the first day of KIVU, and my mind is running in so many different directions.  The idea that teenagers are going to have a chance to experience the love of God in a community committed to loving them, I gotta tell you, it's a DREAM.

For all the traveling, speaking, and writing I do in the fall and spring; living in a community of people who love life to the fullest is one of the greatest parts of my job.  We'll be rafting, biking, hiking, and climbing in a matter of hours; AND we'll be helping students begin to answer some of the most sought out questions in all of life.

Who am I?
Where do I come from?
Does my life really have value?
How can I be sure?

Sure there are moments that are tough, issues that we deal with that are hard, but overall; we're in a beautiful valley here in Bayfield Colorado, we have the greatest staff I've known in 10 years, and God is at work.

Already, the stories of reconciliation have been creeping in our midst.  Daughters reconciling with fathers.  Sons knowing more about their moms.  College students interested in seeking answers to tough issues.  It's been amazing!!!

I'm ready to go.
Ready to start to experience God's movement in the midst of His people.

It's the eve of my favorite day of the year.  I can't wait to share more with you as the summer plugs along.

  1. Hi there. I have meant to come here, read, and post comments for a couple of weeks now. I am amazed that I can’t see other comments. Maybe it’s my computer. Maybe there are none yet. Will you let me know?
I have to admit, I am impressed with the ministry you are doing…spending your lives for the sake of young people…the generation we are at risk of completely losing to the world. I honor you, and my family is praying for your team.
We are complete strangers, but we are related in Christ. I hope you have a wonderful summer and that the youth to whom you minister begin walking with the Lord in an honest, vulnerable, transparent way. Even if you guys don’t see immediate fruit, I know you will be encouraged by the fact that you planted the seed. The Lord will bring the increase. 🙂
    I’ll be following your writing!
    Bless you,
    Christi J.
