I love these Banksey like graffiti pictures.  There's so much creativity and thought put in simplistic images.  What a cool deal!

So, I saw this yesterday, and I was thinking about all the turmoil going on around the world.  Countries trying to wrestle from dictatorships, from social pressure, and even economic downturn.  Freedom is hard.  It certainly doesn't come free.

But think about God's view of freedom.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:31-36)

Freedom comes when Jesus says things like, "Blessed are the poor in spirit.  For yours is the Kingdom of Heaven."

In other words, God is with you all of you who are poor in spirit.

You don't have to be anything.
Jesus offers freedom from the law.
Freedom in a totality.
Freedom from the pressures of the world.
Freedom that will relieve you from the pain of this world, and transfer the hope of the Kingdom of God to your situation right now.

If the Son sets you free, then the fear of what's going on around us will not, must not prevail.

I'm not sure about you, but I'm ready to choose real freedom.

Not something simply made illusion by the hands of man.

I choose freedom from the one who can deliver!

  1. Very well said. There is no doubt at all that only God can give us the freedom that our heart desires. Not the freedom of doing as we please whenever we want to but the freedom to fulfill the promises in our lives. Live without fear, worry and anxiety are but a few of the freedoms we can enjoy in Christ Jesus. What a joy to be free!

  2. I have my country – India – in my mind. Here we enjoy freedom of speech against the Prime Minister of India and the President of India and many at the top and not against Judiciary on certain issues. If you exercise your freedom of speech against any caste projected politician, or a regional party or a Cinema super star, you will lose your limbs. So here freedom of speech is not universal. But here we have freedom to enjoy wants, hunger and starvation and none interferes in it.

  3. Do singers actually know the meaning of their songs or do they just sing the songs that song writers write?
Do singers actually know the meaning of their songs or do they just sing the songs that song writers write? And do they actually write their own songs in the first place?? Shania Twain’s song, “Ka-Ching” has a lot of true meanings in it, but I doubt she knew half the things she sang in that song… That’s just one example though…

Let me know what you think
