Last night, I had the great chance to officiate a wedding for an old friend in Scottsdale Arizona. From time to time I have friends ask me to come and preside over their ceremonies, and I love it!! I love seeing the beauty expressed as a bride and bridegroom stand before a group of witnesses to enter in the covenant of marriage.
Last night I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the sunset over the mountains of North Scottsdale, the green grass of the golf course they were married on, and the purity expressed in the vows Matt Erkman and Page Nath shared in front of their family and friends.
My message was short, simple, and hopefully clear…
God created all things. He was in the midst of creating mankind, and for this moment did he create the beauty all around so Matt and Page could express their love for one another. This covenant is something that helps us see, in real time, the covenant God has for us. And even though human love will falter from time to time, God's love never fails. He loves us unconditionally. He cares for us in the good times and the bad times. He wants, more than anything, that we come into a right relationship with Him. WHAT A JOY!!
After the wedding, I sat around with old friends, new friends, and just marveled in the wonderful relationships God has blessed me with.
Today I'm in Tucson worshiping with a great church at Catalina Foothills. They have long supported our ministry, and I can't wait to re-unite with them.
I hope you have a wonderful Sabbath day…and May God bless you!!
