For those of you who still wonder why in the world I would trek my whole family across the country to Durango, Colorado, just take a look here. I know fall colors isn't a great reason to move, but HOLY COW BATMAN, check this out.
This is on the drive from Durango to Silverton up to the Ski Area called Durango Mountain Resort.
Isn't this Beautiful?
I was driving down the road yesterday, just marveling at the beauty of God's creation, and my soul kept leaping with joy. I kept hearing my buddy Luke Parrott in the background saying, "All of Creation is crying out for the creator!" Man, it was awesome.
Then I got in my car this morning, and noticed some strange smells coming out of the vent. It reminded me very quickly that the world is still broken, and I have to go get it fixed this morning. UGGGHHH, why is life full of these monumental mountaintop rejoices followed so quickly by the realities of the world.
It was another reason I do what I do.
As we travel this Journey of life, waiting on the Kingdom to come in all it's fullness, the reality of this world continues to remind us the need for a savior.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For
by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all
things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And
he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the
firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the
supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and
through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth
or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the
cross." (Colossians 1:15-20)
Thank you Jesus!!
