I decided on Monday to come up and visit a friend in Crawford Colorado. I just needed some time to take a deep breath, so we did some fishing, hiking, and camping for the last two days.
When I drove up to this ranch, I noticed a small building on the side that had a fence around it. I got out of my truck, knocked on the front door, and the nicest man I've ever met greeted me to his place. We sat down at the kitchen table, had a cup of coffee, and then he said, "Do you want to see something cool?"
Well, what was I supposed to say?
He took me to the back house, and opened the gate, and there perched on a little stump were two of the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen in my life.
"I'm a master falconer." He told me. "These are my kids."
I looked with eager anticipation at the these beautiful birds of pray. I didn't know if they were going to jump off the stump and gouge my eyes out, or just sit there majestically wondering who I was and why I was there.
My new friend explained how he trains the birds, flies the birds, and basically cares for them like one of his family.
As I was listening, I was praying at the same time. "God thanks for these little times in life when I walk into something I didn't expect. You blow my mind!!"
Great time to catch my breath.
What a great two days!!
Now, I'm back to the office this afternoon.
I'm getting ready for a Men at the Cross Event in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. So if you're in the area, come on out, and let's have a cup of coffee together!! God bless.
