Tomorrow I head to Rwanda with my Men's Director, Luke Parrott. We're flying to Kigali, but will end up in Musanzi up north of the country for a youth event with Bishop John and the Sonrise school. I'm excited to be back and be a part of the work being done there in reconciliation, but I'm also looking forward to finishing the paperwork for our new adopted son, Jean.
Jean is a six year old orphan from the north part of the country, and I'll be working on making sure we get all the paperwork in the right places for him. Our power of attorney said, "Wouldn't it be cool if you could just bring him home?" I jumped at the prospect, but then he said, "It will probably take more time than you have here."
So, I'm another leg on a long journey. Trying to finish all the necessary paperwork has been exhausting, but I know the day we introduce him to the other Braner 4, he's going to have a BLAST with life.
The Bishop has asked me once again to appeal to the readers here…
This youth conference is going to cost in the $10,000 range, and we've only been able to provide a small portion of that money for the conference. I believe if we are to do it right, and provide THE BEST program, it's going to sneak closer to $20,000.
They've already cut back in anticipation for a low donor base, but I would love to arrive with good news that we can invite more kids. So, if you've got a heart to reach out and provide a place where kids from Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo can begin a part of "Youth Ministry" around that part of Africa, I'd love to put you in contact with Bishop.
As always, you can feel free to contact me here at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I'd love provide you that information.
I'll be off the grid for a while, at least until we can get to Kigali. And then I'll be posting videos from our adventure.
Thanks for your prayers.
Thanks for your gifts.
Thanks for your belief.
There's something happening here in Rwanda, and I can't wait to as I continue to watch God unfold His plan.
