We're only a few days away from saying goodbye to our last campers for the summer. I've been thinking a lot about how everything's going down this year, and it's nothing short of miraculous. God has provided such an amazing staff to invest in the lives of teenagers. My leadership team has been nothing short of STELLER! The people in the operation of this ministry are second to none. It's just been awesome!!
This generation is ready.
They're ready to take their faith seriously.
They're ready to make the Christian Worldview a part of their everyday lives.
In fact, just today, I got 4 e-mails from students who are looking to start their own companies to help with issues around the world. Some are interested in helping orphans, some want to help the malaria epidemic, while others just want to see their local communities understand what it means to follow Jesus.
It's a humbling place to be, to watch teenagers use the gifts God gave them to pursue a passionate faith, rather than an apathetic one that is impotent in the real world. They exist. And to those who see the next generation as a threat, let me just put your mind at ease, there are a few who are trying.
In the midst of a monumental transition, we are poised to be a training ground for teenagers from all over the world to go out and love God with all their heart, soul, and mind; AND…they're learning what it means to truly love mankind at the same time. They want to be friends with people from all countries, faiths, and cultures to give them a reason for the hope that is in them.
It's working!!!! And I'm just sitting here, honored to be a small part of it.
Our new adventure, CAMP KIVU, officially starts on August 12th, and we're ready to travel the country to help teenagers know the message, provide a place where they can come and learn how to get involved, but most of all…we want to give them hope. We believe, with the hope Jesus provides those who follow Him, we can see the world spin a different direction. We believe this generation has the tools to go out and truly make a difference in education, art, entertainment, leadership, and the hardest issues facing our world today.
What a blessing!
As we run through the finish line for this season, I want to just say thanks.
Thanks for praying.
Thanks for believing
Thanks to those of you who have offered to help us launch this new place with professional services, and financial aid.
Thanks for investing in the hearts and minds of the world's next generation.
In 30 years, I believe we're going to look back on what happened in 2009, and praise God for a place where faith was awakened in the minds and hearts of these teenagers.
