Every year, the students from Kanakuk Colorado have an opportunity to put feet to their faith. We started in 2005 going to Costa Rica, 2006 to Ecuador, 2007 to China, and 2008 to an orphanage in Guatemala.
Well, this year we're heading to the smallest country in Africa. A country where history will forever judge the it's most embarrassing moment. A country where controversy is coupled with everyday living. This Friday, we're going to Rwanda.
Rwanda is the site where 15 years ago, it's citizens were responsible for one of the worst genocides in global history. Over 1 million people where slaughtered in less than 30 days.
Our mission…to love.
Our purpose…to serve.
Our plans…mainly to just expose students to opportunities to give love like Jesus gave love.
We seek to follow Jesus in everything we do, and I'm pretty sure if Jesus was alive today, he'd be in the middle of a reconciliation effort in Rwanda.
I'm excited for what's to come, but certainly covet your prayers.
Please share this article with your friends and family, as we travel abroad next Friday.
Thanks so much.
I'll keep you updated as the internet is available.
